Necromunda & Warhammer 40 000

Critical Hit Warhammer 40K role-play rules and background information. Heavily based on WFRP rules, with extensive background information on all W40K background including Necromunda. Highly recommended.

The Dark Library

Ye-Olde-Necro Yahoo discussion group for confrontation

Astronomicon. Excellent site. "The Age of the Imperium" is very good and should be checked out if you need background information, especially as it contains parts of Rogue Trader.

The Rogue Trader Cult. Pages devoted to Rogue Trader, though not very devoted really.

Necromunda - UnderHive Supremacy. Looks like it could be interesting... but not yet finished.

Rogue Trader Online. Here is the rare Rogue Trader, most of it to download for your use. Shame its not all there.

The Tomes of Knowledge. A collection of Warhammer 40K background material. It will be very good when it is finished!

GWs Necromuna page. This is the official page where you can buy stuff if you want it.

Places to Buy Games

POP games deals mainly in second hand Games Workshop stuff. I picked up sme of my Confrontation WDs from there, Realms of Chaos & Dark Future.

Gamesale another good second-hand games dealer.

The Games Directory another good resource for finding these damn out of print games!

Other RPGs of Interest

Fading Suns. Looks like a W40K rip-off, but should provide ideas for parts of the W40K galaxy you could rip off yourself!

Warhammer Fantasy Role-play. Official page, just incase you want to use this highly detailed world in your W40K galaxy.

WFRP details & adventures. This page will take you further into the WFRP game.

WFRP details. So will this one.

Call of Cthulu. One of the games that inspired W40K.

Paranoia. Using this game with W40K should give it an extra twist or two!

SLA Industries. Not "ess-el-ay" but "Slay". Insane.

Cyberpunk 2020. Just 20 years to go!

Car Wars. For Dark Future inspiration.

KULT

Illuminati. W40K is ripe for conspiracy.

W40K Inspirational Books

Neuromancer William Gibson. Forget all other cyber-punk rip-offs that have come since. Neuromancer is definitive. Jack in.

The Nova Trilogy Williams S. Burroughs. Cyberpunk before cyberpunk - plus plenty of hangings & ejeculations.

A Canticle for Leibowitz Walter M. Miller. Dark, yet subtly comical, this reminds me of the W40K Dark Ages & Quest for Knowledge. An excellent, indeed moving, book.

Any book by H. P. Lovecraft. The tentacled inspired and sanity blasting W40K would be nothing without him. Neither would Kaos Magick.

Anything by Edgar Allen Poe too. For those claustraphobic feelings and psychological cliff-hangers, necessary to all Hive campaigns.

Dune. Frank Herbert. Despite the really shit film (they should have let Dahli & Giger do it!) and the tatty book sequals, Dune was obviously a source for W40K. Where else do you find personal shields, re-cycling nomads & Emperor-Gods?

1984. George Orwell. For the ultimate dystopia of surveillance and fascistic control. I expect the Imperium has plenty of cameras on some worlds... or Spires.

Brave New World. Aldous Huxley. Inspiration for Tyranids & Genetor Tech Priests.

Illuminati. Robert Anton Wilson. Nothing like a time-space spanning conspiracy or five.

Discpline & Punish - the birth of the prison Michel Foucault. Speaks for itself.

Anything by George Bataille for those Slaaneshi moments.

All My Sins Remembered by Joe Haldeman (no internet site). A good mixture of frantic fights, psychological games and intrigue.
